About Yerba Mate:

Yerba mate, or mate for short, is a traditional South American brew that’s been said to offer the “strength of coffee, the health benefits of tea, and the euphoria of chocolate.

Compared to the regular green variety, roasted mate is gently roasted to bring out more nutty, chocolatey flavor notes.

It was called “the drink of the gods” by many indigenous South Americans, where the herb is native and the national drink of Argentina, Paraguay, Uraguay and Southern Brazil. In fact, yerba mate is consumed 6 to 1 over coffee in these countries.

There are only a handful of plants in the world that produce caffeine, and yerba mate is one of them. While prepared as an infusion to create a tea-like beverage, yerba mate contains no actual tea leaves.

Containing 24 vitamins and minerals, 15 amino acids and copius polyphenols, yerba mate heals while it stimulates.
